Leading a Client through the
Congressional Plus-Up Maze
Original Motivation
A client had received Congressional
plus-up funds for an Air Force program, but they were
struggling to get the funds allocated to them to begin the
effort. The focus of the program was to demonstrate the
client’s technology on a dedicated aircraft, and evaluate
the return-on-investment (ROI) if the fleet were implemented
with the new system.
Outcome
The plus-up funds were secured, enabling
the client to develop the test plan and demonstrate the
technology on an Air Force aircraft. This allowed them to
collect the necessary data to determine the positive ROI to
be gained from fleet embodiment.
Treble One’s Role
-
Initiated and coordinated
actions to determine the location within DoD of the
plus-up funds and get them allocated to the company so
the effort could begin.
-
Utilized its local
proximity to the Air Force customer to work closely with
the program office to identify an aircraft the client’s
technology could be evaluated and tested.
-
Identified Air Force
research and development programs and funding through
which the client could continue advancing the
capabilities of the system and implementing them.
Client continuously retained Treble One for 3 years until
it was acquired by a major OEM
